Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum offers students in grades 3 - 12 a full day of educational activities onboard the aircraft carrier, USS Yorktown, and our new laboratory and weather station located on the Coast Guard Cutter Ingham. A joint research project by SC Department of Natural Resources and Charleston Explorers allows students to participate in the scientific study of oyster bed restoration.

From sitting in the cockpit of a jet fighter, to navigating through the Yorktown with an interactive map of the ship, to walking through the living spaces and torpedo room of a vintage WWII submarine, history comes to life for students as they learn about the men and women who served our country at home andabroad during WWII.

Our Vietnam Naval Support Base features an actual River Patrol Boat, actual weaponry and combat centers.  Our extraordinary aircraft collection includes two Army Huey helicopters that took fire in Vietnam, as well as a Sea Cobra attack helicopter.  This is the story of the Vietnam veteran and we tell it proudly.
