Florence County Library - The E.N. Zeigler South Carolina Room

Florence County Library Logo

The E.N. Zeigler South Carolina Room is a blend of several themes—local history, South Caroliniana, and genealogy.  The purpose of the Zeigler South Carolina Room is to preserve materials that document the history of Florence County and South Carolina.  The other area of emphasis includes genealogical materials relating particularly to Florence County and the Pee Dee section of South Carolina.

The South Carolina Collection consists of rare or out-of-print items of local or state interest.  Subject areas include early settlers, ethnic groups, businesses, arts and entertainment, and prominent individuals and events.  The collection includes books, periodicals, pamphlets, maps, newspaper clippings, and scrapbooks.  The collection also includes works of local authors.

The genealogy collection includes family histories, census schedules, probate and wills, county histories, cemetery surveys, religious records, newspapers, and indexes to these records.
