of the Lexington County Museum

Welcome to the John Fox Farm in Lexington County South Carolina. This interactive site is full of historical content, primary sources, and learning activities we call “challenges.” This site addresses two historical themes: Southern Antebellum Farm Life, with emphasis on food traditions, and 2) Colonial Settlement in South Carolina's backcountry. Visit Teacher Resources to learn more about the site's Food for Thought and Settling the Backcountry WebQuests.

In order to tour the Lexington County Museum, you will need the latest QuickTime™ and Acrobat Reader™ plug-ins. To download the free plug-ins, please click on the download buttons located on this page.

From time to time you will be viewing maps and actual copies of ledgers and census reports. We ask your patience while these larger images load.
